The exhibition turns a gaze at art that reflects a spiritual dimension of existence. Wassily Kandinsky’s 1912 essay Concerning the Spiritual in Art sets a historical anchor to contemporary art that touches upon the mystical, the cosmic and the esoteric.
The works of the spiritualist artists Hilma af Klint (1862‒1944) and Emma Kunz (1892‒1963), who believed they channeled a higher consciousness in their art, are featured alongside 21st-century artists. Participating artists: Marina Abramović, Hilma af Klint, Friedrich Kunath & Adam Rabinowitz, Emma Kunz, Muntean/ Rosenblum, Maxime Rossi.
