The exhibition seeks to present a multilayered work by sculptor and medallist Stanislav Sucharda (1866–1916) in the context of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and Czech and European art.
Sucharda’s art expression developed from the realism of Myslbek to Rodin’s impressionism and genuinely modern expression, but he always retained his authenticity.
His oeuvre most of which is still unknown is a unique example of the 19th-century transition to modernism.
