Cody Hudson works as a multimedia artist, but is often considered a painter and a graphic designer. His use of graphic line work and a palette of bright colors create a body of paintings that reference his narrative of longing and hopefulness while also finding context within contemporary abstract painting.
The artist is interested in the elemental use of shape as signifier, but goes further by allowing the forms to be direct extensions of the painting’s poetic content. Hudson’s solo exhibitions include Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, Guerrero Gallery, San Francisco, New Image Art, LA (with Sean Cassidy), Rocket Gallery, Tokyo, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
Group exhibitions include V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, and Chicago Today, Chicago. His work has been exhibited at fairs in New York, Basel, Los Angeles, and Miami. His graphic design contributions are known under the name Struggle Inc. His work is in numerous private and public collections.
