Sandra Treagus was originally trained in ceramics at Greyfriars College in Colchester – her tutor was Stephanie Bonner.
She moved into figurative and abstract works using the medium of clay attending life classes at Morley College in London where her tutor was Sheila Volmer.
Changing direction again, she started to carve stone.
She now works in many materials utilising plaster, paint and recycled items. Also producing items which are later cast in bronze – having had a course in bronze casting to better understand the process.
Sandra Treagus’ work has been seen in the Southwark Arts Festival at Morley Gallery, the Society of Women Artists and the Miniaturists Painters Engravers & Sculptures exhibition at Mall Gallery, London.
She has had two shows in London’s Cork Street with the painter Jonathan Miller and her work is in a number of private collections in the UK and Europe.
Sandra Treagus was also commissioned to make a sculpture for the Women of the Year Award, her studio is in Camberwell, South London.
