NEIGUNG, Monika Brandmeier’s third exhibition at drj, includes early and new installed works, drawings, and analogue photo pieces.
NEIGUNG [Inclination], understood as a spatial tendency—as direction and movement—is a courteous gesture of gravitation. The elements weigh down, lean, and tilt. Untrue angles, axes set in italics, and gradually falling lines confuse the space. And a tiny pin turns toward its neighboring wall. The works balance on the fine line between sober constructions and gestural dialogues.
