As part of the London Design Festival The Mosaic Rooms is pleased to host an exclusive Carwan Gallery pop up exhibition, presenting visitors with the opportunity to buy unique contemporary limited-edition furniture and objets d’art by cutting-edge designers from the Middle East and beyond.

The pop up exhibition will include works by Karim Chaya (Lebanon), Marc Baroud (Lebanon), Taher Asad Bakhtiari (Iran), Phillippe Malouin (Canada) and others.

Carwan was founded by the architects Pascale Wakim and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte in 2010 and began life as the first pop-up gallery in the Middle East. Established in Beirut, the gallery now exhibits limited-edition pieces in art and design events throughout the world, with a focus on internationalising design in the Middle East.

The Carwan Gallery Pop Up Exhibition runs alongside The Mosaic Rooms new mixed media exhibition Home, the result of three projects which explored notions of home with: FdA Interior Design students from Chelsea College of Art, young people in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and members of London’s Yemeni community.

As part of this show The Mosaic Rooms will also host a talk entitled: The Art of Contemporary Design from Beirut: Contemporary Perspectives in Middle Eastern Craft with the founders of Carwan Gallery and Lebanese designer, Najla El Zein, chaired by Malu Halasa, author, writer and former editor at large for the urbanism and architectural journal, Portal 9: Stories and Critical Writing about the City, from Beirut.
