The Fishing and Fisheries exhibition at the Ohrada hunting lodge presents the development of fishing and fish farming in our territory from the earliest times until the present.
The exhibition focuses especially on the illustrious tradition of pond founding in Bohemia. Items exhibited here include traditional implements used in pond harvesting and other instruments related to pond management. Quite unique is a set of instruments traditionally used by villagers for fishing in rivers and streams.
Very rare are plaster casts of salmon made by Antonín Frič for the Jubilee Land Exhibition in Prague in 1891. Part of the exhibition entitled ‘Life on Water’ presents various water fowl, including recordings of their voices, and other animals closely linked to the aquatic environment. The exhibition includes five fish tanks with both native and introduced species of fish.
