Wolf Böwig's photographs, leporellos and collages are multi-layered works of art that, in their concept of „expanded photography“, go far beyond the documentary.

In this retrospective, Wolf Böwig shows not only some of his iconic photographs, but also large, impressive sequences of images that he sometimes overwrites by hand and in which he combines his image-text overlays with maps, newspaper clippings and objects from his travels.

Thus, he creates unique collages that testify in their materiality to what Böwig has seen, experienced and researched on his expeditions to the margins of our perception.
