Repetition of the same thought or physical action develops into a habit which, repeated frequently enough, becomes an automatic reflex.
(Norman Vincent Peale )
Ernesto Garcia Sanchez interrogates the relationship of lines on the spatial plane. The exercise of drawing freehand lines, allows him to be focused on the creative act, without any kind of distraction, a sort of graphic, repetitive visual meditation. He is particularly interested in geometry and the angularity of line in defining shape and form.
This exhibition will showcase a series of drawings situated within an immersive installation. Sanchez states: I am interested in exploring the phenomenon of the line, the border between the illusory and the real, the construction of forms from consecutive paths.
This is Sanchez’s second solo exhibition in the gallery, and comes after two years of intensive studio work and travel. Sanchez continues to develop and refine his connection to minimalism and contemporary abstract art practices.
