Looking into the private photo album of Anna and Michael Ancher shows an unfamiliar and personal side to life in the family of celebrated artists.
While photographic images were sometimes used as models for the Skagen painters’ works, photography was also used to document private moments of domestic life as this exhibition of reproductons of the family’s photos shows.
In addition to the photographs from museums’ own archives, the exhibition also features images from The Royal Library and Nordjyllands Kystmuseum.
The exhibition is in the Saxilds Gaard next to Anchers Hus and is free to all.
