Modern Eden Gallery proudly presents ‘Ephemeral’ Beautiful Bizarre Magazine’s second curated exhibition at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco. This exciting new exhibit brings together over 60 of the world’s best 2 and 3 dimensional contemporary artists. Beautiful Bizarre Magazine has quickly become one of the preeminent art publications due in large part to their dedication to artists and tireless efforts to promote and elevate our artistic community. We began advertising with Beautiful Bizarre Magazine when they were a young publication and we were a young gallery. Our professional relationship has evolved over the years into a friendship and mutual respect that is invaluable to the gallery and our artists. This latest exhibition, Ephemeral, once again presents Danijela Krha’s meticulous curation with a subject based on the fleeting nature of our lives and the world around us.
From the curator: Almost everything in the universe and our lives is ephemeral or fleeting depending on the time frame, and lens that we look through. Our planet is ephemeral when we consider it compared to the age of the universe. Our own species, plants and animals, are also ephemeral when compared with the age of the earth itself. The individual lives of some species can be so fleeting and transient, sometimes as brief as one season or just days! Our individual lives are ephemeral when we look at it from the perspective of how long our species has walked the earth. Our thoughts, feelings, attention spans, desires and relationships but a fleeting and precious moment in the oceans of time.
If we truly look, and see the diversity and fragility of life, take to heart the transient and fleeting nature of existence – it is our hope that the hearts of all people will be moved to appreciate how precious life and love is, and how very important it is to walk lightly and in harmony with the earth, its creatures and each other. “We owe at least this much to future generations, from whom we have borrowed a fragile planet called Earth.” Maurice Strong
‘Ephemeral’ for the first time will also showcase the work of the Inaugural Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Art Prize winners. As a leader and advocate for the arts, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine champions emerging and mid-career artists. In the 5 years since our launch, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine has proudly become – a voice, a tribe, and a platform – for creatives whose work doesn’t always fit neatly into the traditional fine art “box”. In keeping with our mission, the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Art Prize seeks to inspire creatives from around the world to pursue a life and career in the arts, and to help careers grow through our exposure of their work.
