Fusion – a small word with many meanings. An art collection, like the one belonging to the Nordic Watercolour Museum, is a form of fusion. Each work is a part of a bigger whole, just as they are in group exhibitions. The art works are shown in new constellations, sometimes expected, sometimes surprising.
The museum has invited artists, that are already represented in its collection, to make new site specific works for this exhibition. Eleven artists, using very different artistic language, interact and unite in new ways. The exhibition alternates between the small and large, the sugar sweet and the unpleasant. It shows that watercolour has no single expression – but many.
Participating artists: Katja Tukiainen, Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir, Petri Hytönen, Adam Saks, Julie Nord, Arto Korhonen, Jukka Korkeila, Lars Lerin, Michael Kvium, Elina Merenmies, Astrid Svangren.
