The collection is back at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum! We closed our exhibition from the collection in January 2017 to make room for Sámi Dáiddamusea and the exhibition There Is No. Now it's back, bigger than ever.
Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum’s collection encourages reflection, play and exploration, and in so doing enhances our perspectives of the North. What shapes the North? What is its history and what does it hold for the future? We present North as an combination of people, places and stories, in three rooms that thematically presents diverse perspectives from two centuries of art.
The collection is now displayed on two floors. We have revitalized the presentation of a wide range of techniques and mixed media, and through a continually changing exhibition we encourage intersecting narratives about both people and land. We have extended the collection with two new rooms, dedicated to alternating themes and an artist in focus. The winner of the John Savio Award, Britta Marakatt-Labba is the first artist to be presented, and the first theme will be Surrealism.
