The China Gallery presents Chinese history and culture focusing on religious art, crafts, and painting. In the religious art section, objects excavated from tombs, such as prehistoric jade objects, funerary items from the Han and Tang periods, Daoist items, stelae, and Buddhist sculpture are exhibited to illustrate the religious practices of the past.
The crafts section exhibits bronze rituals from ancient China, ceramics from major kiln complexes, and wooden furniture. The painting section introduces rich tradition of Chinese paintings with a selection of landscape, flower and bird, figure, and genre paintings.
Furthermore, seasonal changes in China and the beauty of its sophisticated ceramics can be enjoyed through media arts presentations of the Ming and Qing dynasties paintings and tea sets and incense bowls excavated from Sinan Shipwreck collection.
