The Scottish National Gallery is currently undergoing major refurbishment to expand and improve the gallery spaces devoted to Scottish art. During this period, key Scottish works will hang alongside European masterpieces on the Ground and Upper Levels.
This display features a selection of Scottish artworks dating from the seventeenth to nineteenth century, including David Wilkies Pitlessie Fair, works by William Gouw Ferguson, David Allan and portraits by Ramsay and Raeburn. This display also includes Raeburn's much-loved portrait of Reverend Walker Skating on Duddingston Loch.
