Since its inauguration, Pera Museum has been collaborating annually with national and international institutions of art and education to organize exhibitions supporting young artists. This year, the museum is presenting the show Shaken Image, selected works by graduate and master degrees from Hacettepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts department.

Curated by Dilek Karaaziz Şener, the exhibition inquires the conceptual layers behind the image and its relevance in the production process through works from a wide range of disciplines such as painting, sculpture, installation, video, print, graphic, and ceramics. The exhibited works not only reflect the current probes by young artists but also explore how different yet overlapping contexts like the body, society, memory, space, nature, and cultural norms relate to the image.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology and Art History from, Ankara University Faculty of Languages, History and Geography in 1992. Consequently, she completed her Master’s Degree in 1996, and Ph.D. in 2011. In 2010, she assumed the role of assistant curator for the exhibition Little Black Fish, and in 2015 she curated How Should a War Be Remembered? In 2017 she curated Hacettepe Art Museum’s new collection - Yarın Bugünden Kurulur (Tomorrow Created Today) in CerModern, Void in Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Centre, and “Süleyman Saim Tekcan: A Cyclical Odyssey” in Tophane-i Amire Istanbul Culture and Arts Centre. She is a member of International Association of Art Critics (AICA) Turkey. Currently, she is teaching Art History, Aesthetics and Art Philosophy, Contemporary Art and Mythology in Fine Arts Faculty, Hacettepe University, and acting as deputy director in Hacettepe Art Museum.
