We are delighted to be holding an exhibition of new paintings by Nicholas Hely Hutchinson in June 2013.

Works can be reserved or purchased prior to the exhibition opening. If you are interested in a piece that is already reserved, it is worth letting us know as there is a chance it may become available.

Born in 1955, Nicholas Hely Hutchinson studied at St. Martins School of Art and Bristol Polytechnic (Fine Art). Since his first one-man exhibition in 1984 Nicholas has exhibited consistently in London, Dublin and Hong Kong. His paintings have increasingly become more in demand and now feature in many private and corporate collections.

He has been represented by the Portland Gallery since 1997. A range of cards and posters featuring his work have been published by the Art Group, The Canns Down Press, The Almanac Gallery and Paperlink.

Nicholas lives in the heart of Dorset with his wife and two children. He gets much of his inspiration from the surrounding countryside and the coast. He also travels to some of his favourite places to paint - particularly Venice, Paris, the West of Ireland and Cornwall.

“On a much deeper level Hely Hutchinson uses his paintings to convey his own intensly individual interpretation of the landscape, cityscape or interior which he has observed.”
