Garvey|Simon is pleased to present Jim Holl’s new large-scale paintings and small works on paper titled All the Living Things. The paintings in the exhibition are featured in Holl’s new book, All The Living Things, which pairs his words and images in an exploration of associative meanings, addressing art, philosophy, nature, physics and spirituality. All the Living Things is published by ‘T’ Space Editions. It is 56 pages with 23 images, available in three formats and as an e-book. The artwork of Jim Holl has been widely exhibited and collected. Jim Holl holds a BA from the University of Washington, an MFA from Columbia University and he is an Associate Professor of Art at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City where he directs the Graphic Design program. Jim Holl’s art is driven by themes that are manifested in sculpture, painting, photography, video and performance. He maintains studios in New York City, Catskill, New York and Manchester, Washington. Charta Art Books published Jim Holl’s first book, The Landscape Painter, an autobiography, 1974 through 1994.
