InLiquid presents "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," a juried group exhibition, featuring InLiquid artists who were prompted to respond to the individual’s and society’s notions of masculinity today.
During the show’s run, The Painted Bride will be hosting movement artist Cynthia Oliver, whose work ‘Virago-Man Dem’ sees its Philadelphia debut.
This dance-theater piece navigates a spectrum of black masculinities, while incorporating each of the performers’ personal accounts of their identities. In dialogue with this project, and in response to the personal and global movement to reexamine masculinity, this exhibition of drawings, paintings, installation and sculptures is an initial effort to enlist artists in one of the crucial social confrontations of our time.
