In the 1701, The Great Peace of Montréal exhibition, visitors will relive the events that led to the signing of the Great Peace treaty of Montréal.
A multimedia show will present the event, complementing the majestic artwork on the same theme by Nicolas Sollogub.
It describes how, on August 4, 1701, Louis-Hector de Callière, Governor of New France, and delegates from 39 Aboriginal nations succeeded in signing a treaty, the Great Peace of Montréal, here on the Pointe à Callière site. This unique event was a turning point in the history of Montréal and international diplomacy.
