Tufenkian Fine Arts is honored to present “Conversations: A Focus in Contemporary Latin American Art and Culture.” This tri-artist show will highlight the closing of Pacific Standard Time’s LA/LA theme, “Celebration Beyond Borders.” “Conversations” brings forth three emerging contemporary Latin American artists whose techniques overlap.
This unique exhibition will be Carlos Beltran Arechiga’s curatorial debut with Tufenkian Fine Arts. Arechiga is a Mexican born, American artist who studied visual arts at the Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. His artwork has been shown at the Downtown Art Center, the Los Angeles Art Association, and The Brand Library and Art Center. His main goal is to present the viewer with works that celebrate Los Angeles’ bi-cultural Latin American art movement, and to incite the conversations about culture and location. This exhibition provides physical evidence on the moment that’s shaping Los Angeles to be the new “creative capital of the world.”
The three artists featured are Nano Rubio, Sergio Wintron, and, the curator himself, Carlos Beltran Arechiga. These artists are heavily involved in the explosion of Latin American art in Southern California. Their artwork absorbs the viewer, providing multiple layers of architectural imagery and colors.
Tufenkian Fine Arts, a gallery located in Glendale, California, is dedicated to working with modern and contemporary artists. We present and connect audiences to events and exhibitions fostering excellence in contemporary fine art.
