303 Gallery is pleased to present our sixth exhibition of new photographs by Stephen Shore. A pioneer of color photography, his newest work focuses on scenes of New York.

Here the artist’s lens is downcast, capturing seemingly banal images of an asphalt-strewn sidewalk or a glimpse of a tree trunk meeting a patch of dirt.

Through his compostions, Shore amplifies textures to an uncommon degree, allowing reflection to take precedence over our familiarity with these scenes, and guiding us to see the ordinary anew.
