Sulger-Buel Lovell and Leila Alaoui Foundation cordially invite you to attend our next exhibition hosted at the gallery. The exhibition features 25 photographs taken by Christine Alaoui during her time spent in the United States and her relocation from France to Morocco. All proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to the Leila Alaoui Foundation.
Born in Paris, Christine Alaoui flew to New York at the age of 19. She met her Moroccan husband and studied photography at Orange Community College and interior design at the New York School of Interior Design. After returning to Paris in the 1970’s, she moved to Marrakech with her family in 1987. Christine Alaoui is the mother of deceased photographer and videographer Leila Alaoui and the president of the eponymous foundation and association, created to preserve the work and humanistic values of Leila Alaoui. Christine Alaoui exhibited her photographic work for the first time at Photomed 2016 and more recently at the French Institute of Beirut.
