Knowing where our food comes and exploring foods from different cultures strengthens our communities. The Market welcomes everyone to seek connections while they playfully explore the role of food in the stories of our lives. Here, as ingredients move from garden-to-table, they enrich and nourish relationships by inviting curiosity and nurturing the seeds of empathy needed to grow strong communities.
In The Market, open-ended play is inpired by Opal Charter School 3rd graders and shaped by loose parts and imagination! Visitors of all ages delight in the discovery of their ability: Gather vegetables from the garden or eggs from the chicken coop, pick out fresh produce from the farmer's market, serv up a hot meal in the cafe, check out foods from all over the world at the grocey store, or make a signature Portland meal in the food truck.
No matter where you are in The Market, you and your family can reflect on where food comes from and how it brings us together.
