Geary Project Space is pleased to present Color Reliefs, an exhibition of work by New York City based Jason Stewart. This exhibition will feature a selection of modestly sized paintings in our rear gallery.
Jason Stewart’s newest works highlight color and form as their focus, with subtle variations of sharp angles and smooth curves. Built in relief on linen and canvas, shapes jostle for position. They bounce between positive and negative, projecting and receding to often appear to be as flat as a cutout.
Jason Stewart lives and works in New York. He has an MFA and MA from Suny Albany and a BFA from University of Southern Maine. Recent exhibitions include Geoffrey Young Gallery, Great Barrington, MA; Albany Institute of History and Art, Albany, NY; Union College Art Gallery, Schenectady, NY; Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME; Jeff Bailey Gallery, NY, EFA Blackburn 20/20 Gallery, NY; and Pierogi Gallery, Brooklyn, NY.
