With more than 25,000 objects, the collection comprises textiles from late antiquity to the present day, clothing from the 16th to 21st century and a range of traditional fabrics and regional costumes. It is complemented by the Jewellery Collection whose holdings stretch from the Middle Ages to the present day.
The main areas of the collection are medieval tapestries, clothing from the Renaissance and Baroque periods and a collection of regional costumes and traditional dresses.
More than just a fashion show, the costume collection is of great cultural-historical importance. The majority of the items in the Jewellery Collection stem from the 16th and 19th centuries.
