The zoological collections include RAMM’s iconic mascot Gerald the Giraffe.

There is an astonishing variety of material, ranging geographically from Antarctica to the Arctic, through the Antipodes, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe.

The subject areas are equally diverse ranging though much of the animal kingdoms. RAMM’s most diverse and important zoological collections are insects, molluscs, birds, echinoderms (starfish and their relatives) and mammals.
