TeamLab (f. 2001, Tokyo, by Toshiyuki Inoko) is an interdisciplinary group whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, technology, design, and the natural world.
Rooted in the traditions of historicalJapanese Art, teamLab operates from a distinct sense of spatial reconition that they call Ultrasubjective Space.Their work exploreshuman behavior in the information era and proposes innovative models for societal development. teamLab’s works are in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide;Asian Art Museum, San Francisco; Asia Society Museum, New York; and Borusan Contemporary Art Collection, Istanbul.
They have been the subject of numerous exhibitions worldwide; in 2015, a projection work was exhibited on the façade of the Grand Palais, Paris.
