The exhibition Drawing from the Future presents 75 current drawings by international and local artists at the Salon für Kunstbuch – the world’s first museum shop to double up as an artistic intervention.
The majority of the works have been borrowed from the art project “Anonyme Zeichner”, or “Anonymous Draftsmen”, by Berlin-based artist Anke Becker. Since 2006, Becker has been inviting her colleagues to release new works via public calls. From these she arranges market installations without hierarchies, in which the usual rules of the art market are removed and thereby reduced, ad absurdum.
In the context of the three-month exhibition Drawing from the Future, publishers, distributors of small editions, as well as artists will present their productions in several events and will discuss the current relationship between drawing and the medium of the book.
