Maestro Arts is delighted to be exhibiting the first UK exhibition of limited edition photographic prints by French visual Artist, illustrator and animator Grégoire Pont.

Cinesthetics is a performance concept developed by Grégoire. He ‘paints’ live, creating a unique, non-repeatable experience, when music and motion interplay in a synaesthetic dance. An admirer of classical music, Grégoire has always been passionate about encouraging children and adults to enter into a magical world through his animation. A cinesthetic performance in the gallery of Ravel’s Ma mere d’oye (Mother Goose) with pianist Dawn Hardwick will mark the opening of the exhibition on the 23 September at 8pm.

Grégoire’s work has been seen around the world, recent performances have included ‘Cinesthetics’ projects in Helsingborg and Freiburg; animating Ravel’s Ma mère l’oye and Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra respectively. He is currently working towards further productions; in Paris at the new Philharmonie de Paris, whilst for Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg he is working on a new semistaged production. On 29 November, Conductor Kazushi Ono, Music Director of the Tokoyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and Grégoire Pont will perform Debussy’s La Mer with the TMSO.

Grégoire’s great passion for classical music has led to him working on projects designed to make it more accessible to a wider audience. He has been commissioned by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, to animate a piece, Disco Toccata by composer Guillaume Connesson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZLR7HboW-Q. A further commission by Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Agoraphobic will be released in the autumn.

Grégoire is a well-known name in animation and his characters (like the Cosmic Family or Les Excalibrius) are loved by children all over France. Other projects include the highly successful three year series PRESTO! for French national television, seen by audiences of over three million each week, which he carried out in collaboration with celebrated French conductor François-Xavier Roth and his orchestra Les Siècles.

Harmonia Mundi "The graphic animations and the dynamic realization make each episode a true moment of musical joy."

ResMusica "The creative and poetic animations allow children, as well as their parents, to become familiar with works they might otherwise not have chosen."
