Rich Hendry is a photographer and gallery owner currently living in London. His commercial work is frequently for advertising agencies or luxury brands but he took time out to put together this series of his works for WSI readers.

Hendry explains his subject:

"All of these images have been shot around in and around financial institutions throughout Europe over the course of the last 5 years and are part of my ongoing personal work. As a commercial photographer I frequently shoot lavish hotels or super yachts, couture look-books or London parties - so this series is in stark contrast to their opulence, yet strangely the subject matter is hubs of global wealth.

With the obvious correlations of symmetry and clean lines between the works in this series, I'm Interested in how everyone is either physically put into boxes (offices) or how servers and supercomputers hold information about the population. My work is shot very much from the non-judgmental stance of an observer.

Also it is interesting how the office blocks we all go to work in now often physically resemble these super computers or servers; questioning whether these buildings are merely shells holding data and their workforce simply parts of an efficient processor? Or is the efficiency and seamless integration of technology with modern living actually something in itself beautiful?

I shot these subjects devoid of people in each case to highlight the 'personality' and serenity of the machines and architecture and this series is characteristic of the cool tones of my photographic style."
