The Mezzanine Gallery continues its multiple and contemporary programming, featuring performances by festival 'Moviemnta#1', which aims to be the first in a series of interdisciplinary events and takes place free of charge during the days July, 24th to August 01st, 2015 in the Galeria Mezanino itself and elsewhere in the Pinheiros neighborhood, in São Paulo (Brazil).

Movimenta is an exhibition of artists who have, in their careers, the intersection and the border crossing. From the movement of a primordial gesture and trivial actions, trigger reflections and questions about the here and now, expose inner worlds and (re) creates both other external. The event is curated by art dealer Renato De Cara, the artist Luanna Jimenes and cultural producer Ivi Brazil.

The project involves artists gallery staff and some guests, among them LUIZ83, Marcos Moraes, Lilian Colosso, Ariel Spadari, SHIMA, Monica Schoenacker, Julia Salém, AqueleMario, Cacau Francisco, Marie Auip, Natália Coehi, Tatiana Schunck, Felipe Bittencourt, Fanny Feigesson e Cristina Rossi, Cynthia Domenico, Gilberto Tomé, Luanna Jimenes, João Batista, Nilda Neves, Maria Cecilia Mansur, Renan Marcondes, Miguel Paladino, Luciana Vendramini and Ciro Cozzolino. Art journalist Celso Fioravante, publisher of guide Mapa das Artes, also participates in the event.

Since the first pulse until the last breath we are immediately thereafter. For the body, the first form of expression of will and emotions is through the movements, the pulse that activates and guide paths. The world turns and everything DRIVE - verse, music, city, ideas, market, politics, food, body - and thus triggers to performance art.

By acting in the expanded field, Movimenta seeks to bring different shapes and forms of expression in 21 performances. Hiking, live painting, fixing, dramatic readings, interactions with the public, performing presentations and video performances explore issues of memory, identity, gender, temporality, affection and conflict. Many other discussions are carried out by the artists that lead to Movimenta occupation of the gallery spaces and outside. They are reflections that drive the artists and the participating public.

The exhibition will take place at Galeria Mezanino (Rua Cunha Gago, 208), Largo da Batata, Ateliê Nilda Neves (Rua Édson Dias, 94), Apartamento Renato De Cara (Rua dos Pinheiros, 1.033/09), Desculpe a Poeira (Rua Sebastião Velho, 28A) and at the Galeria La Mínima (Avenida Pedroso de Moraes, 822).
