Jealous Gallery and Print Studio are excited to announce the release of the 2015 Jealous Prize Winners portfolio, which will be brought together in a group exhibition at Jealous Gallery Shoreditch from Thursday 9th July to Sunday 2nd August before heading to Jealous Gallery Crouch End from Wednesday 16th September to Sunday 11th October.
Now in its sixth year, our Jealous Prize is awarded to one MA Fine Art graduate from each of the seven major London colleges; The Royal Academy, The Royal College of Art, Camberwell, Central St Martins, The Slade, Chelsea and Goldsmiths.
The seven winning graduates are awarded an all expenses paid residency in Jealous Print Studios. Guided by our Studio team, each graduate creates a new limited edition print.
The Prize has grown in stature year on year. The graduate editions were launched in May at leading international art fair, Art15, and now the portfolio joins the rest of the previous years winners in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent print collection.
The Jealous Prize has proven to be a significant springboard to success for it’s graduate winners. Last year’s 2014 prize winners, like the previous years before them, have been exhibiting in high-profile shows, receiving awards, residences and accolades throughout the UK and abroad. The edition we printed with 2014 Central Saint Martins winner Hwa Seon Yang has recently been chosen for The Royal Academy’s 2015 Summer Exhibition, co-ordinated by Michael Craig-Martin RA. Trevor Abbott has won the neo:printprize 2014 neo:residency Award which will lead to a solo show in November. Charlie Billingham who had already sold an entire collection of his work to Charles Saatchi before finishing his MA has been exhibiting internationally since graduating.
