Darc Space gallery are pleased to announce the opening of Paula Pohli’s solo exhibition: “Lino and Egg”, on Thursday, 7th May, 2015 at 6.00pm. Dr Edward McParland, of Trinity College Dublin will open the show. The exhibition closes 29th May, 2015.
The exhibition includes new linocuts and egg tempera paintings by Paula. All of Paula’s linocuts are handpulled and in low editions. Egg tempera paintings made with egg yolk, pigments and water is a new medium for her and executed on gesso panels and paper. The exhibition will display over 40 framed works. Additional unframed works will be available in portfolios. The themes are of nature, trees, fields, birds, animals, light on moss, etc to be found in the Mayo Abbey area of South County Mayo.
Paula Pohli makes Linocuts since 1990. She is a native Dubliner and lives in County Mayo. She has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad: soloshows in Holland and Germany. She organised three print presentations in the US in 2012: “Recent Linocuts” in the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut, USA, and in New York at the New Arts Center.
She exhibited prints in group shows in the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing, China in 2011 and 2012. Her award-winning prints were exhibited in many international Print Biennials.
