Profits from this show will go towards funding The Subway Gallery 2015 Joe Strummer Statue Project by Artist R.G. McHarg III.

Artist Robert Gordon McHarg III FRSA, founded and created the Subway Gallery in June 2006 out of a 1960’s kiosk in a pedestrian subway under the Marilebone flyover. To date the Subway Gallery has hosted over 80 exhibitions. McHarg’s art /art direction /curating projects include:

This archive sits alongside a parallel general collection of books, magazines, videos, ephemera, toys and games which mark out his life, times, and influences.

Joe Strummer Past Present and Future - London & Tokyo 2004-2005

After his untimely death, Gordon worked with Joe's family and friends through Strummerville – the Joe Strummer foundation for new music- to create an exhibition of Joe's stuff including: original writings, clash song lyrics, photographs and memorabilia.

Art - Tube 01 - London 2001

McHarg’s brainchild is London’s first and only art exhibition on a working tube train. the work of 42 artists who each produced specially commissioned panels which were exhibited on an entire London underground Piccadilly Line train. Artists included : Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono, Jamie Reid Vivienne Westwood, Pam Hogg, Gavin Turk, John Cooper Clarke, Paul Simonon, Joe Rush and John Dunbar. Sponsored by Bloomberg and supported by London Underground/Platform for Art.

McHarg solo and group shows include: Sandpaper Blues, Panties @ Groucho Club, Je me suviens, Zoo Artfair, Mutate Britain, Trolley , Art Barter, Oxo Restaurant, Portobello film festival, The Playtime, Apart, Notting Hill Arts Club and more at his Subway gallery.

The event takes place on Tuesday 16th of December 6-9pm and will be on daily until the 22nd of December 11am-7pm.
