Jonathan Cooper Park Walk Gallery is pleased to present Flock & Stock, an exhibition of twenty oil paintings by Gavin Watson.

In these playful and dreamlike works the artist explores the relationship between beast and man, and by bringing livestock into the traditional English home he blurs the distinction between the internal and external worlds inhabited by the two. Delighting in word play, his pictures hint at a larger narrative beyond the surreal scenes they represent.

Gavin Watson (b. 1962) lives and works in rural Northumberland, and is inspired by the landscape and history of the region, and by the rich experience of his North East childhood. His paintings have been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, London, and are held in private collections in the UK, US, and Europe.
